7 Billion For PM Employment Program At Local level
October 27, Kathmandu. An additional Rs. 3 billion conditional grant for spending under the Prime Minister's Employment Program has reached the local level.
 
According to the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, the amount has been sent to the local level for the current Fiscal Year 2077/78 to involve the poor unemployed persons listed in the local level employment service center in the construction and maintenance of community projects based on wages.
 
As per the objective of providing employment, this amount has been sent to 569 local level to provide employment to the unemployed persons listed in the Employment Management Information System.
 
The government has a plan to provide employment to 200,000 people by implementing the project through laborious method in the public works carried out at the local level.
 
So far this year, Rs 6.89 billion has been provided at the local level and out of this, 133,300 people will be provided employment for at least 100 days, according to the ministry.
 
Joint Secretary of the Ministry Suman Ghimire has informed that an additional grant of Rs 3.44 billion will be redistributed in the near future for the current fiscal year.
