Two days weekend in Nepal

The administration has decided to reinstate a two-day weekend on Saturday and Sunday, which was previously in effect. The notice of the two-day weekend is published in rajpatra on 10th May 2022. This rule for holiday will come to effect from Jestha 2079

This is not the first time that Nepal has chosen to have a two-day weekend in the country.A two-day weekend program has been enacted by the government as recently as two decades ago. During that time period, the goal, according to the then-governing party, was to boost the efficiency and productivity of workers.
However, once the new regulation failed to accomplish its intended result of increasing employee efficiency and production within a few months, the decision was reversed within a few months.
The main goal of instituting a two-day weekend policy this time around is to reduce costs, particularly those associated with the usage of petroleum products.
